Not Tracking Sidespin
Within the last week or so the Square Golf launch monitor has stopped tracking sidespin no matter which ball I use.
Any idea why that might be?

(Edited) Select Measurement for the side spin setting instead of Calculation. I think the default setting might be Calculation. This applies to the HE app as well as the GsPro connector and probably other simulator settings. Personally, I don’t think there should be any setting for side spin. It would be nice if detection was automatic that we’re using a marked ball or not instead of having a spin mode.

I'm not seeing a setting option where I can select “Premium Ball”. I feel like I remember seeing it at some point in the past, but I cannot find it anywhere in the settings menu.

Yeah, the new version of the HE app has a spin measurement setting. Try setting it to Measurement if you are using a marked ball. I usually play GsPro and haven’t played the Square simulator lately.

Ok I wondered if that was the issue. It says I have to update the OS in order to use the Measurement option but my PC won't recognize the device when I connect the launch monitor via USB. So updating the OS isn't really an option.

You can get the OS update to work if you have a PC. Just try a different cable. I tried type C to C first then used the provided type A to C cable instead and it worked. Connect the cable then turn on the Square before running the OS update utility. You do need to update the OS for side spin to work with a TP5 Pix or TP5 X Pix ball. I’ve been using TP 5 Pix since January and had a dozen TP 5 X Pix balls delivered today that I will try soon.
Download the OS update from here https://www.squaregolf.com/supportYou might get an error trying to download the OS update from the UK version of the website instead.

Yeah unfortunately I've done all that, but the PC won't recognize the USB connection. I've tried both A to C and C to C. If a Windows PC is the only way to update the OS I may be in trouble.

Sounds like a trip to the neighbors. I think Windows 10 or later is required. Some people got it to work just by trying a different cable even though it was the same type A to C cable.
